PHP settings Print

Your site runs on a current, supported version of PHP, and the server's default limits suit almost every site. If an application asks for a higher limit, you can set an override yourself under Account Manager → PHP Settings.

Under Add New Override, pick the Setting, choose or type the Value, and click Add. The change applies to your whole site within a minute or so; no restart is needed. Overrides you have added are listed on the same page, where you can change or remove them. The ones people actually need are:

Setting What it does Typical value
upload_max_filesize Largest single file you can upload through your site, e.g. in the WordPress media library 64M
post_max_size Largest form submission; must be at least as big as upload_max_filesize 64M
memory_limit Memory a single page load may use; raise if you see "Allowed memory size exhausted" 256M
max_execution_time Seconds a script may run before it is stopped; raise for slow imports 120
max_input_vars Number of form fields a page may submit; raise if a large menu or theme settings page will not save 3000
display_errors Shows PHP errors on the page; turn On only while diagnosing a problem, and Off again afterwards Off

If an application says it needs a different PHP version, raise a ticket and we will advise; the server currently offers one version, kept up to date, so this is rarely an issue.

If you have any trouble, raise a ticket and we will sort it out.
